Tailgating Rules
Important Reminder About Garage Entry and Exit
Hello, neighbors! As we work together to keep our community safe, I wanted to remind everyone about the proper process for entering and exiting the garage—especially with our current gate setup, which operates a bit slowly.
The key request:
Please allow each car to fully enter the garage, and wait for the gate to close before pulling up and entering yourself. It's important to stay far enough back (at about sidewalk level) so that your intentions are clear when you arrive and see someone is already entering.
Why this matters:
The person in front of you often can’t see who’s behind them, and we can’t assume everyone knows or recognizes one another. If the driver in front hesitates or even exits their car to ensure security, this is not an act of aggression, rudeness, or any form of discrimination. They are simply following the protocol for everyone’s safety—both people and property. We ask that this feedback not be taken personally.
We're all human!
We understand that pulling in too fast or too close can happen to any of us. But when someone points it out, let’s accept it as a friendly reminder rather than a criticism.
Starting next week, when our Swiftlane system is implemented, each car’s tag will automatically trigger the gate. This makes it even more important to follow the safety guidelines to ensure a smooth and secure process for everyone.
Why it’s so important:
In addition to protecting our vehicles, belongings, and mailroom, this protocol helps ensure the safety of everyone in the community. By making sure the gate closes fully, we prevent unauthorized access and reduce risks to both people and property.
Thank you for helping to keep our community safe by following these guidelines!
